What the tenant had to say:
The worst agency I have EVER dealt with. I had one property manager threaten me if i went to VCAT. When I complained to the director of the branch he taunted me saying \"go to VCAT, we go to VCAT all the time... you wont win!\". I did go to VCAT... and I did win. Me winning, only caused more problems. They kept coming up with ridiculous reasons not to release my bond - despite agreeing that the property was in perfect condition. They have refused to pay me the overpaid rent that they owe me, saying there is no time frame that they are required to operate within according to consumer affairs. And even if i do get an order for compensation for this amount, there is no way of enforcing them to pay me unless i go to the magistrates court. Which will be happening. On top of all of this.. when i spoke to the director Mr Dennis Bowen-Day, i asked him again when i could expect the overpaid rent to be returned to me... he repeated over and over laughing at me "you need therapy!!! You must need therapy to continue persuing this!!\" ... they owe me $1100 in rent. I dont think that warrants therapy.. although I have suffered depression for many years. I am outraged that he is able to not only speak to me like this but .. get away with it. They have a reputation with the other agencies in the area one of which i had the pleasure of dealing with and has been the only group to give me any sort of faith in Estate Agents of late. Interesting another tenant came into their office demanding a copy of their tenancy agreement... which they were still chasing and yet to receive despite being in their property for 3 months! My advice? Avoid dealing with this agency on ANY level.
