What the tenant had to say:
This agency seemed professional until vacating the premises at which time they showed they had no ethical business standards at all. After 3.5 years of tenancy the agent took full advantage that I needed to go interstate after submitting the keys in the following ways: 1) Claimed that things needed doing in the gardens (which were somewhat un-kept at the start of the tenancy anyway) and so they needed their own maintenance guy to fix it. Bottom line, defrauding me of over $100. A neighbour later confirmed that all they did was trim a couple of trees and then mow the lawns which I had already done in the last week of the tenancy. 2) Claimed there were a few little things missed in cleaning. Another $120 thanks, despite the fact that the house was being painted and re-carpeted a week later. 3) Claimed that a key was missing to a security door and a locksmith had to attend the property. The agent never mentioned this to me possibly because she knows as I do that the key in question was on the main bunch of keys handed in as I locked the door 5 minutes before handing the keys in. I can only assume that the agent separated the bunch of keys and lost the key in question and decided to use my bond to pay for there mistake. End result, another $50+ dollars defrauded from my bond. In over 20 years of renting I have not lost even $1 in bond or had to sign over $1 in bond until now.
