What the tenant had to say:
Was in national news after the apartment's botched 'evacuation' which put 500 families in enormous trouble. Now, is using a law firm to bully the remaining residents and to save themselves from litigation!! The apartment is in deep trouble. But, they still charge the same rent. They don't provide the promised amenities (lift and a safe car park). They have placed a disclaimer in the car park that "it can get flooded anytime"!! how irresponsible and atrocious?? I wonder what organizations like RTA Queensland are for when such agencies do daylight robbery??

Emily Says: Great news!!! Have all the problems been solved? I'm an absent landlord, but I've not yet heard about the resolution of the flood a few years back! I'm looking forward to getting that mail. But, since news abut the apartment is incomplete (sometimes unable to be reported because it's with the lawyers, or the committee is gagged), it's hard to tell. But yes, a beautiful place to live - shame the Body Corporate managers don't do it justice.

Perry Says: I am also a landlord. The new committee and onsite managers have done a lot of work to resolve the mess and it's looking more promising now that they are dropping the legal procedings agains the insurance company, so now we know where we stand financially and will incur minimal further costs due to the flooding. They did a great job in January 2011 to prevent any major damage during the Brisbane floods and I think this shows that it will be VERY unlikely for major flooding to occur there again. The management are very approachable and knowledgable and ensure the place is kept in top condition. I am still happy to be an owner there.
